Lee’s Platform
Connecticut is becoming unaffordable for too many people because state government too often serves the wealthy and protects a “Gold Coast economy” that working families cannot afford.
I’m not just running against Ned Lamont. I’m running against the powerful interests and vocal minority that shape politics in Hartford and Washington.
Voters deserve more than vague promises. This platform lays out where I stand and the priorities I will fight for.
· Stop the wealthy and powerful from buying elections here and in Washington.
· Make the rich pay their fair share while delivering common-sense tax relief.
· Break up monopolies and support small businesses.
· Protect Connecticut’s economy by raising the federal minimum wage.
DEMOCRACY, ETHICS AND GOOD GOVERNMENT
· Defend the Constitution and strengthen democracy before it slips away.
· Crack down on corruption by rooting out waste, fraud, bribery, and abuse of power.
· Pass term limits and enforce a strict code of ethics, especially around donations from powerful interests.
Healthcare, Social Security, and Public Services
· Rebuild our broken healthcare system with practical, common-sense reform.
· Strengthen Medicare and Medicaid.
· Protect Social Security for future generations.
· Defend and support public schools.
· Strengthen the VA and stand with veterans.
· Defend the Post Office and expand access to essential public services.
Energy, Environment, and Housing
· Take back citizen power by ending big energy price gouging.
· Empower citizens to invest in small solar that does not require “selling back to the grid.”
· Protect our climate, air, water, land, and wildlife.
· Is there a long-term housing crisis? Says who? Address the housing crisis with long-term, practical solutions.
· Ensure data centers are developed without destroying communities.
Workers, Families, and Civil Rights
· Enforce immigration law in a humane, orderly, and civilized way.
· Support unions and bring more good union jobs to Connecticut.
· Keep government out of our private lives and defend the right to choose.
· Fight for equality for all.
· Reform the judicial system and reduce unnecessary budget strain by learning from effective state models, like Alaska.
· Adopt a better approach to hospital budgeting rather than relying on punitive fines. Lamont’s new plan of a $400,000 fine does not make sense.
· Provide common-sense childcare support for children and parents.
· Support Americans with disabilities.
Connecticut Jobs, Waterfronts, and Industry
· Strengthen and modernize Connecticut’s working waterfront.
· Create incentives that make waterfront industries more competitive and marketable.
· Fight Pentagon waste to rebuilding Connecticut’s shipbuilding capacity.
Foreign Policy and Public Safety
· End the ongoing killing in Gaza and stop public funding that supports the conflict.
· Review and reverse state investments in Israeli bonds, including the $95 million issued under Ned Lamont.
· Hold American settlers in the West Bank accountable when they violate the law.
· End wars that do not help us in any way. .
· Replace the war on drugs with a common-sense public-safety approach.
